Online Book Club: ‘Strange Flowers’ by Donal Ryan

This January, our book club will read and discuss ‘Strange Flowers’ by Donal Ryan.

In 1973, twenty-year-old Moll Gladney takes a morning bus from her rural home and disappears.

Five years later, she returns. What – and who – she brings with her will change the course of her family’s life forever…

The fifth novel by Tipperary-born writer Ryan, ‘Strange Flowers’ was voted Novel of the Year at the 2020 An Post Irish Book Awards.

About the Book Clubs

The book clubs are held on the last Tuesday and Thursday of every month, one online and another in-person. We start each session with an inclusive discussion about the current title and then have a broader discussion about what we’re reading and swap recommendations.

Please note that the in-person book club will not be taking place in January.

Culture Connects @ Richmond Barracks

These workshops are part of our Culture Connects @ Richmond Barracks programme. Culture Connects is a year-round programme that invites people in Dublin to try out new things. We offer ways for people to make and create together, to share ideas and connect through culture and conversation.

The workshops cover a wide range of cultural activities from home growing to history, painting to poetry, dancing to drawing and so much more. We design sessions so that you can join one workshop or come for several, depending on your preference. Please keep an eye on our website or sign up to our newsletter for regular updates
