Online Book Club: ‘Queenie’ by Candice Carty-Williams

This February, our book clubs will read and discuss ‘Queenie’ by Candice Carty-Williams.

The story follows the life of Queenie Jenkins, a twenty-five-year-old Jamaican British woman living in London, straddling two cultures but not quite fitting into either.

Disarmingly honest, funny and boldly political, this is the debut novel by British author Carty-Williams. A TV adaptation will air on Channel 4 later this year.

About the Book Clubs

The book clubs are held on the last Tuesday and Thursday of every month, one online and another in-person. We start each session with an inclusive discussion about the current title and then have a broader discussion about what we’re reading and swap recommendations.

Please note that the in-person book clubs have been paused until further notice.

Culture Connects @ Richmond Barracks

These workshops are part of our Culture Connects @ Richmond Barracks programme. Culture Connects is a year-round programme that invites people in Dublin to try out new things. We offer ways for people to make and create together, to share ideas and connect through culture and conversation.

The workshops cover a wide range of cultural activities from home growing to history, painting to poetry, dancing to drawing and so much more. We design sessions so that you can join one workshop or come for several, depending on your preference. Please keep an eye on our website or sign up to our newsletter for regular updates
